"Bubble Gum and Belly Buttons": Bringing the Stories to Children

Storytelling for children can be your most rewarding venue...it can also be your most challenging. This fast-paced and fun-filled workshop will remind us from whence we came and lead us to the here and now with storytelling for children.

Have you ever faced a room full of children and felt you just may be "out of your league"? Kids; those most honest of humans, tell it like it is. Learn how to bring Storytelling to children using some new ideas and some old worthy of keeping methods to leave both you and your audience begging for more.

Participants will create a "program" for children in a setting of a few kids or an auditorium full. We will learn what tales to tell, how and where to tell them, and some things that will help in the telling. Each person will have the opportunity to tell, sing, dance, cut and paste their way into a wonder-filled program for children. Come prepared to laugh, think deeply and enjoy the world of Children and the Stories we tell them.

"Touch the Tickle: Storytelling on the Light Side."

Ever wonder what makes your audience laugh at things you never intended to be funny? Or What you can do to touch the tickle side of their imagination? Sometimes things take on a life of their own and this workshop will help you recognize the humor in stories and in situations.

You will learn what to do when you think its funny and no one else does. We will discuss how to access the audience and find a way to flow with it so you can bring smiles to their faces. We will learn to recognize the funny in a world where much of life just isn't that funny. Laughter is really the best medicine and we can prove it. Come share your story and your laughter. Spend an hour or two on the Light Side.

Each participant that wants to will have the opportunity to share a story and get what feedback they are interested in. Each individual will ask for what they are looking for such as "I am having trouble with the ending of this.
